Broken Promises Mel Sherratt

Well, it's been an incredible week and I just wanted to say a huge thank you.

Last Friday, I published Broken Promises and, as the third Allie Shenton book was out way back in 2015, I had no idea what to expect. Would readers even remember Allie?

Well, the response blew me away. Broken Promises shot straight into the top one hundred to number 69! I was genuinely staggered and it was so lovely to see.

As usual on publication day, I spent most of it online, thanking people for their lovely messages of support. I've been thrilled to receive many emails and messages since. I certainly did the right thing in bringing Allie back.

So much so, that this week, I've been at my desk writing book five.

I know, I know. I hear what you're saying. You wait seven years for one and then three come along quite close together. I do have plans to release book five and six this year and I can only do that because I already have words banked up.

Last year, I wrote nearly 60,000 words of a book. I had an idea but I couldn't get it to work. To be honest, it couldn't make its mind up whether it was an esate book or a psychological susense, so I shelved it.

Coming back to it this year, after writing Broken Promises, I knew some of it would fit an Allie Shenton book. So far, I've managed to work with half of that word count. It will take some editing and lots of words to add as well as to delete, but it seems to be taking shape quite nicely.

It'll be out this summer... I can't wait to share it with you. I think this one is my favourite cover yet. The blue is stunning.

A huge thank you!
