I think I’ll treasure this photo forever. It sums up just how happy I was to be at my own book launch at last. The party – because it was a great party – for the publication of TAUNTING THE DEAD and WATCHING OVER YOU was a huge success, thanks to Thomas and Mercer, Amazon Publishing and The Fellow, Kings Cross.

Thank you to everyone who turned up for the launch, from all over the UK –  Northumberland, Stoke-on-Trent, The Wirral,  Doncaster, Nottingham, Brighton and all parts of London to name a few places. I had two surprise visitors fly over from Dublin and someone came from Luxembourg. It was fantastic to see my friends talking to my friends. One guest said to me ‘it was the only launch I have ever been to where I kept hearing ‘where do you know the author from – Twitter. Oh, so do I.” Not that I spend a lot ofphoto 1 time on there…

I came home to over 600 messages – tweets, emails, messages on Facebook and texts. A huge thank you for all the cards and gifts I received too. I went home with my arms full. It was so incredibly overwhelming. I don’t think I’ve stopped grinning since.

And, to top it all, WATCHING OVER YOU ended its first day at number 34 in the overall UK Kindle chart and number one in psychological thrillers.

Oh, what a night

Good on you, Mel. It was a great launch for a lovely, supportive, super-talented gal! The photos I’ve seen have all been so fab with your beaming smile reflecting exactly how chuffed you are. Fully deserved too. I wish you even more success for the future. I cannot wait to read Watching Over You. Thanks again for inviting me on Tuesday. Love Jan xx

Hi Jan – thank you so much – and thank you SO much for coming along. I was so thrilled that you were there and that I got to meet you at last! You were one of my very first supporters and I will never forget your support through the rejections! Mx
